Once again, I get
to see this most amazing Ozzy tribute band (at the same venue
even). I still get that feeling of great awe when watching the
antics of the "Ozzy Clone". Eric and I got there early
and had a couple drinks while waiting for the opening band to
take the stage. There weren't that many people there like last
time at least not in the beginning. The same group of puffy haired
females were there as well as the "sport jocks" I had
mentioned in my other BELIEVER concert review.
SONIC STRUCTURE is a damn cool
band and I was glad to have seen them again. They really have
that old school sound and this time I was smart and picked up
a disc of theirs. I believe it's their debut release too. Not
only do they sound old school but they also look the part. You
can easily tell that their roots lie in the eighties metal bands.
They played covers again as well as material off their official
release. They closed with 'Seek And Destroy' again. One very
cool thing is when they did an AC/DC cover the drummer took over
the vocal duties and really sounded like the guy ! It was pretty
cool despite me not being a huge AC/DC fan.
By
the time BELIEVER hit the stage, Eric and I had found a nice
table with a great view of the whole stage. We relaxed and just
took in the great show that the band put on. "Ozzy"
dragged out the water bucket again and at one point even had
a huge super soaker water gun which he sprayed the crowd with.
This time I brought my camera so was wary of going to take pictures
when he was messing around with H2O ! :) The band ripped through
the classics like 'Mister Crowley', 'Crazy Train', 'Crazy Babies'
and many others... They also played a few SABBATH tunes which
was an added bonus. The mix of songs was excellent and just watching
the guy on stage was amusing. They took a fifteen minute break
and then returned back to performing just like the real Ozzy.
I definitely recommend that those of you who haven't yet seen
this band do so if the opportunity arises. The experience is
something else !!
